Now that Roman is 6 months old, I finally got around to turning his room into a real little boy’s room. Harper previously occupied his room, and it was very cute but a little girlie. Also we never had curtains for the room, so when Harper lived in it I tacked towels over the windows to block out the light (classy!) Needless to say, it was time to get some real curtains, and while I was at it I decided to make the whole thing a little more masculine.

I bought the rug on clearance before we knew that Harper was a girl, and it is perfect for a boy’s nursery. Unfortunately Pottery Barn stopped making that pattern several years ago and it’s really hard to find. Through a combination of Craigslist, Ebay, and Freecycle, I was able to piece together the other parts of the collection (for super-cheap, I should add). I think it turned out just perfect! Also, since we’ll most likely be having #3 in this house (don’t read into that too much – I’m not announcing anything!), it’s nice to have a separate "girls room" and "boys room."
